B. FREE SPOKEN ENGLISH PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY DEENABANDHU TRUST
Aim: Train to speak fluently in English, raise social awareness and create understanding of national and international happenings.
Student Profile: Under privileged children from economically and socially deprived families with no exposure to English language or International Culture.
Method: Interactive method using audio visual aids. Focus on learning through usage. Teach the basic principles of sentence construction and language keeping in mind the requirements of local School Boards.
Program Objective & Status: India has many talented students who excel in studies but due to poverty or social backwardness fail to achieve their full potential as they do not have the opportunities available to their privileged counterparts.
Deenabandhu tries to erase this inequality by providing such opportunities through the Communicative English and Social Awareness Program.
This project is currently being implemented in schools in rural areas of West Bengal and Orissa.
Volunteer information:If you wish to be participate in this project Deenabandhu will make all arrangements for your stay in India where you can contribute towards enhancing the educational experience of these young learners.

C. FREE COMPUTER LITERACY PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY DEENABANDHU TRUST
Aim: To create awareness of computers and provide practical training to students in the use of MS Office package like MS Word, MS Excel and Power point.
Student Profile: Under privileged children from economically and socially deprived families with no exposure to computers.
Method: Focus on learning through usage. Teach the basic MS Office package as well as the use of Internet (emails and search engines like Google). Junior students are taught computerized drawings using paint brush.
Program Objective & Status: India has many talented students who excel in studies but due to poverty or social backwardness fail to achieve their full potential as they do not have the opportunities available to their privileged counterparts.
Deenabandhu tries to erase this inequality by providing such opportunities through the Computer Literacy Program.

D. CAPGEMINI SCHOOL ADOPTION PROGRAM
Objectives:
1. To facilitate joyful and violence free environment.
a. Awareness programs on Good touch and Bad touch, RTE (Right to Education),Good Parenting, Menstrual Health and Hygiene and Health and Hygiene (Use of dustbins).
b. Table tennis training given to the girl students of 2 selected model schools.
2. To enhance the learning levels of children in school.
a. Practical classes were conducted on STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) from classes V to IX. To grow interest towards Science.
b. Smart board installed in 4 class rooms (Class VII to X) by Next Education. E-learning contents were provided.
c. Some computers were given to all schools.
3. To make school governance and management child centered.
a. SMC / Staff meeting were conducted.
b. Child cabinet was created in 3 model schools.
4. To ensure infrastructure in school is child friendly and safe.
a. CCTV installation done in 3 updated model schools.
b. Water purifiers provided in some schools.
c. Sanitary Vending machines provided in all girls' school.
d. Renovation of toilets done in some schools.
e. Painting of schools done in 3 updated model schools.
f. Fire extinguishers given to all schools.
g. Staff room was organised - In 3 upgraded model schools we have done painting of Staff room, painting of benches and tables (Glass top cover was also provided for all tables), new lockers for teachers also provided and racks provided for Staff room and Library.
h. Some dustbins given to all schools.
5. Community Interface
a. Awareness program conducted for children and mothers' 50 adopted families - Awareness programs on Good Parenting, Good touch and Bad touch, RTE (Right to Education), Menstrual Health and Hygiene and Health and Hygiene (Use of dustbins) of the community.
b. Digital literacy class conducted for mothers'.
E. BPO CALL CENTER TRAINING
Deenabandhu Trust provides Training and Placement for "Un-employed Youth" in the BPO industry. This project is in-line with our motto of "Education for the Employment of the Underprivileged". The minimum qualification is Class X or XII pass and the minimum age limit is 18 years. A 3-week comprehensive training is provided at our Chingrighata Center on Communication, Computer Knowledge and Navigation, Mobile Industry Terms as well as Typing Speed.
We have successfully placed several unemployed youth in the past few months and have given a hope and a career path for these students who could not otherwise see "light at the end of the tunnel"!
